A Century of Service
In 1919, veterans returning from World War I banded together to found the American Legion, an organization which is dedicated to serving the needs of fellow veterans, as well as active duty service people and their families. In the process of helping past and present military members, we actively engage in our communities, because we understand that vibrant cities and towns provide veterans with opportunities to successfully transition to civilian life.
We Love Our Community
From our full-service event venue to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Club 271, Paynesville American Legion is committed to meeting the needs of area citizens. For God and Country
The American Legion welcomes all active duty Armed Forces veterans, including those from WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War, as well as OIF and OEF veterans. We exist to provide these veterans with the opportunity to continue their lives of service as they support one another and the larger community, operating under the motto “For God and Country.”
Over the past century, the American Legion has been the vanguard for American national security interests, and we work diligently to cultivate programs that help to mold our country’s youth, promote patriotism, and ensure the rights of our veterans.
